GASTON COLLEGE has been hit with a Notice of Apparent Liability for Forfeiture for $10,000 by the FCC for public file violations at noncommercial WSGE/DALLAS, NC. The fine arose from a complaint by an individual who claims he was prevented by station personnel from seeing the public file upon request and was instead threatened with arrest by the school's attorney. For its part, the school says that the complainant's employer, COLUMBIA BIBLE COLLEGE, had been harassing and intimidating it in order to force a sale using FCC processes.
And the Commission continued issuing NALs for failure to timely file license renewal applications, with proposed fines of $7,000 for ILLINOIS VALLEY RADIO (WDUK/HAVANA, IL), BEST MEDIA INC. (W206BL (formerly W207BJ)/MT. PROSPECT, IL), GATEWAY TECHNICAL COLLEGE (WGTD/KENOSHA, WI), HAWKINS BROADCASTING COMPANY (WWHN-A/JOLIET, IL), TRUSTEES of CARROLL COLLEGE (WCCX/WAUKESHA, WI), DEL MATTHEW REYNOLDS (W247AC/GREEN BAY), and GREENVILLE COLLEGE EDUCATIONAL BROADCASTING FOUNDATION INC. (WGRN/GREENEVILLE, IL) and $14,000 for DOWN HOME BROADCASTING (WCOX-A and WYVC/CAMDEN, AL).
