It's Official: Clear Channel Signs For PPM In Philly

ARBITRON made official today what ALL ACCESS reported last week (NET NEWS 3/2) -- that CLEAR CHANNEL RADIO has signed a multi-year agreement for the ARBITRON PORTABLE PEOPLE METER radio ratings service in PHILADELPHIA.
CLEAR CHANNEL has also agreed to encode its radio stations in PHILADELPHIA with the start of the MARCH PPM survey period (MARCH 8-APRIL 4).
The CLEAR CHANNEL stations covered by this agreement are Gospel WDAS-A, Urban AC WDAS, Top 40 WIOQ (Q102), Rhythmic AC WISX, Tropical WUBA (RUMBA 104.5) and Urban WUSL (POWER 99).
Day One In Philly
Meanwhile, with today being the first day of first "currency" PPM radio ratings survey for the PHILADELPHIA market, ARBITRON reports that 51 stations are ready to be measured electronically and represent 98.95% of the share of listening among the radio stations in the metro.

The company has installed a representative panel of more than 2,040 persons age 6 and above, meeting its goal for electronic measurement in the PHILADELPHIA market. Approximately 8% of the panel was recruited from cell-phone-only households.
