UMG Revenue Up In 2006

As part of VIVENDI's 2006 earnings statement this morning, UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP revenues were up 1.3% from 4.893 billion euros to 4.955 billion euros, while EBITA was up 9.3% to 744 million euros. The company said bestsellers for the year included new releases by U2, ANDREA BOCELLI, SNOW PATROL, NELLY FURTADO and THE KILLERS, in addition to strong carryover sales from the PUSSYCAT DOLLS.
For the fourth quarter, revenue was down 1.5% from 1.682 million euros to 1.657 million euros. EBITA was down 1.6% from 316 million euros to 311 million euros.
