CORUS French Talk CKRS-A/SAGUENAY host LOUIS CHAMPAGNE will return to the air MONDAY after issuing an apology for using a derogatory term for gays to refer to PARTI QUEBECOIS leader ANDRE BOISCLAIR.
CHAMPAGNE called BOISCLAIR, who is gay, a "tapette" on his FEBRUARY 27 show and said that the workers at the ALCAN aluminum smelting plant in the area would not vote for him. In a statement released today (3/8), CHAMPAGNE acknowledged that his comments could be taken as homophobic but said that they were not intended to be "hurtful, scornful, or discriminatory."
