CAMPBELL UNIVERSITY is pulling the plug on its noncommercial Contemporary Christian WCCE/BUIE'S CREEK, NC on MAY 31, according to the DUNN DAILY RECORD. The station, which picked up its present format last JUNE after several years in a traditional block-programmed variety noncommercial format, will go dark, a decision the school said was made "after thorough review and study."
"We believe it's in the best interest of the university to suspend operations," the school's VP/Marketing & Planning, JOHN ROBERSON, told the paper. "Decisions of this magnitude are always difficult. The university is carefully evaluating other technologies to send its messages and sports broadcasts to the campus and larger community."
