Legendary WABC/NEW YORK radio on-air personality BRUCE "COUSIN BRUCIE" MORROW will recreate THE BEATLES' BRITISH Invasion today at 2p (ETP at 88 THIRD AVENUE, MANHATTAN, marking the 100th anniversary of the legendary station.
Over his 60-plus year career in radio, COUSIN BRUCIE was one of the first disc jockeys in the country to introduce the BEATLES' first record to AMERICAN airwaves in over 40 states. The record changed rock & rock and music forever.
State and city officials will be proclaiming tomorrow as "WABC DAY" in NEW YORK as MORROW replays the original vinyl recording of "Meet THE BEATLES," the album that made history. The DJ famously introduced THE BEATLES for their first performance at SHEA STADIUM, the first stop on their 1965 U.S. summer tour.
WABC radio CEO JOHN CATSIMATIDIS will dedicate the WABC broadcast studio in COUSIN BRUCIE's name and induct him into the station's HALL OF FAME.
COUSIN BRUCIE is the longest-serving on-air personality on a major radio station in the NEW YORK CITY and the U.S. His radio career began in 1959 and has since broadcasted to billions of listeners.
