CRTC OKs Sale Of Quebec Station

The CRTC has approved the sale of French AC CJIT/LAC-MEGANTIC, QC by RADIO GAE-RIT to LES PRODUCTIONS DU TEMPS PERDU INC. for C$200,000. The buyer took over management of the station in SEPTEMBER with CRTC permission.
Also approved by the CRTC: a new national Religious programming service by HOLY MOTHER WORLD NETWORKS OF CANADA, intended for digital distribution.
* JERRY FALWELL's LIBERTY UNIVERSITY is buying a TV station to add to its radio cluster in LYNCHBURG, VA. The LYNCHBURG NEWS AND ADVANCE reports that LIBERTY will buy WDRL-TV/DANVILLE-ROANOKE, VA from MNE BROADCASTING LLC for $6 million and will change the station's programming from its present mix of off-network syndicated sitcoms, westerns, brokered religion, and infomercials to religion and LIBERTY UNIVERSITY sports.
LIBERTY presently owns LPTV WTLU-CA/LYNCHBURG and noncommercial Contemporary Christian WRVL (VICTORY FM) and WWMC (90.9 THE LIGHT)/LYNCHBURG.
