FCC Rejects Two Late Petitions
LANA'I HIGH AND ELEMENTARY SCHOOL's Petition for Reconsideration of the dismissal of its application for a new LPFM at LANA'I CITY, HI was dismissed by the Commission. The Petition was filed well after the 30-day period for appeals had expired.
And in another late-filing case, INDIANA COMMUNITY RADIO CORP.'s petition to deny and rescind the license renewals of five INDIANA stations licensed to WHITE RIVER BROADCASTING CORP. was also dismissed for being filed over 30 days after notice of the license renewal grants. The petitioner filed on grounds of unresolved character issues, alleged misrepresentations in petitons to deny ICRC translator applications, and public file and political broadcasting violations, but the filing was made one day late.
