In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop, the urban culture-focused entertainment company MASS APPEAL and SONY MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT (SME), have entered a partnership to highlight SME R&B and Hip Hop artists and the digital catalog program.
It's a part of MASS APPEAL’s #HipHop50 initiative. Two years ago, SHOWTIME entered a multi-year content collaboration with MASS APPEAL leading up to this year’s anniversary.
The collaboration recently (1/25) launched a preview event of the new FOTOGRAFISKA NEW YORK exhibition "HIP HOP: CONSCIOUS, UNCONSCIOUS." It features over 200 photographs dated 1972 to 2022. The exhibition traces Hip Hop through five decades. The exhibit is being presented in collaboration with CHASE MARRIOTT BONVOY Credit Cards and is open to the public now through MAY 21st.
Later this year, MASS APPEAL and SONY MUSIC will debut a new content series called “MADE BY HIP HOP” that will take a look at various Hip Hop subjects. Short-form videos will focus on Hip Hop’s history and impact on the culture.
