Bridge Ratings Surveys The Latest From Sat Radio Users

BRIDGE RATINGS continues to follow satellite radio consumers, both current and prospective, with these observations this week:
* Thirty days into merger talk, satellite radio consumers are more optimistic about the possible merger than they were when the announcement was first made public, though nearly three-quarters of those interviewed still expect an increase in the monthly subscription rate.
* BRIDGE RATINGS had projected satellite radio to add over 700,000 new subscribers this first quarter. Based on retail traffic and interviews, it estimates that number to be only slightly over 600,000.
* Consumer interest in satellite radio is at an all-time low.
* With a possible merger, HOWARD STERN has the potential to pick up an additional 900,000 listeners.
