XM SATELLITE RADIO and WAL-MART STORES INC. today announced the XMKiDS Traveling Roadshow, a cross-country initiative to raise $10 million in 30 days for the CHILDREN'S MIRACLE NETWORK (CMN), a non-profit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children at hospitals across NORTH AMERICA. The XMKiDS Traveling Roadshow will kick off APRIL 30 in LOS ANGELES, with XMKiDS visiting local CMN hospitals and hosting events at local WAL-MART and SAM'S CLUB locations nationwide before concluding in WASHINGTON, DC on MAY 19.
The entire on-air team from XMKiDS (XM 116), including KENNY CURTIS, JINX, "ABSOLUTELY MINDY" and ROBBIE SCHAEFER will broadcast live from the "Balloon Bus" for 20 days. Live performances will air on XMKiDS SATURDAYS from 10a-2p ET by groups like HOT PEAS & BUTTER, JOE MCDERMOTT, MILKSHAKE and others. The first XMKiDS broadcast and live concert will be in L.A. on APRIL 30 with a performance by PAULIE LITT, LAUGHING PIZZA, RHYTHM CHILD and MEREDITH BROOKS.
"XM is proud to partner with WAL-MART to bring the XMKiDS Traveling Road Show to kids around the country," said Sr. VP/Music Programming JON ZELLNER. "This tour will create a fun, lively and interactive experience to encourage kids to help other kids within their communities. The funds we raise with the CHILDREN’S MIRACLE NETWORK have the potential to help and make a positive impact for local children in local hospitals in each community we visit."
