The sale of SPORTING NEWS RADIO affiliate KMPC-A (1540 THE TICKET)/LOS ANGELES by PAUL ALLEN's VULCAN SPORTS MEDIA/ROSE CITY RADIO to PHILL SOHN and YOUNGOK S. KIM's P&Y BROADCASTING CORP. has been filed with the FCC, and the filing indicates that the buyer is paying $33 million for the station. SOHN's RK MEDIA GROUP programs a Korean format as "RADIO KOREA" on crosstown MULTICULTURAL station KYPA-A and will terminate that arrangement prior to taking control of KMPC; the buyers, who are married, will take over KMPC in an LMA effective MAY 1.

In other sales filed with the FCC, EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION is buying another station, this time picking up the construction permit for KBEX/BRENHAM, TX from KSBJ EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION for $100,000. EMF is also selling the construction permit for FM translator W249BI/QUITMAN, GA to SCOTT MATHESON aka SCOTT JAMES for $1.
And COLQUITT COMMUNITY RADIO, INC. is donating FM translator W287AM/NEW ELM, GA to POWERLINE NA, INC.
