Mailloux Draws More CBSC Censure

Stop them if you've heard this one before: the CANADIAN BROADCAST STANDARDS COUNCIL has ruled that CORUS French Talk (now Sports) CKAC-A/MONTREAL host PIERRE "DOC" MAILLOUX breached the CAB's Code of Ethics with three programs in 2006.
The CBSC censured CKAC for a MARCH 27, 2006 show in which he criticized CUBA as a "deficient country" and visitors to that country as a "Damned bunch of blind people," an APRIL 4, 2006 show on Haitians, and a MAY 30, 2006 show calling RUSSIA a "deficient country." The station was ordered to air notice of the censure and come up with measures to prevent future violations. MAILLOUX' comments have drawn CBSC censure in the past as well, including one comment calling Sikhs "bozos" and racial comments on a TV show in 2005.
