ARBITRON and EDISON MEDIA RESEARCH have released a study called "The Infinite Dial 2007: Radio's Digital Platforms." In it, they say AM/FM radio listening still dominates use of digital audio platforms. Some of the key findings:
* Average time spent listening to AM/FM radio by persons 12+ was two hours, 37 minutes per day -- but those who use digital platforms listen two hours, 45 minutes per day.
* Fewer than one in 10 report reduced listening to broadcast radio due to time spent with their iPod or MP3 player.
* Awareness of both satellite radio companies is flat in the past year.
* Nineteen percent of all respondents said that AM/FM radio has had a big impact on their lives.
