Detroit TV Horror Host, Cleveland Radio Vet Lawson Deming Dies

Condolences to family and friends of LAWSON DEMING, best known as DETROIT TV horror movie host SIR GRAVES GHASTLY, who died TUESDAY night in CLEVELAND of congestive heart failure at 94.
DEMING started his career in radio in 1932 at WHK-A/CLEVELAND and later worked on a freelance basis at several other CLEVELAND stations and in WEST PALM BEACH before moving into TV at NBC's WNBK-TV (later KYW-TV, now WKYC-TV)/CLEVELAND, spending several years as part of the WOODROW THE WOODSMAN children's show. DEMING moved with the WOODROW show to then-CBS affiliate WJBK-TV/DETROIT in 1966 and launched the "SIR GRAVES BIG SHOW" in 1967, hosting the show until 1983.
