Accountant and business executive TIMOTHY CASGRAIN has been named the new Chairman of the CANADIAN BROADCASTING CORP. and French network RADIO-CANADA.
CASGRAIN, who has headed SKYSERVICE INVESTMENTS and NBS TECHNOLOGIES, among other companies, but has no prior communications or entertainment experience, was named to the post by Heritage Minister BEV ODA on FRIDAY; he replaces interim Chair ROBERT RABINOVITCH, who continues as President/CEO of the networks. RABINOVITCH took over the Chair when previous Chairman GUY FOURNIER resigned in SEPTEMBER under fire for a column he wrote making fun of Lebanese people.
