Condolences to family and friends of former longtime WBT-A/CHARLOTTE personality RAY GOODING, who died MONDAY (5/14) after a lengthy illness at 68.
GOODING served as Public Affairs Director at WBT but was best known for his "SUNDAY NIGHT HALL OF FAME" show. "ROCKIN' RAY" started his career at the old crosstown WGIV-A, later moving to WRPL-A and then WBT-A in 1971, hosting the SUNDAY night show through JUNE 28, 1995 and then handling a talk show for the station and a new version of the "HALL OF FAME" for the old WMMG (MAGIC 96.1). He was deeply involved in the "PENNY PITCH" children's charity in CHARLOTTE and was well enough to attend the station's 85th anniversary celebration on APRIL 10.
