Fiber optic system manufacturer FINISAR CORP. is suing both SIRIUS SATELLITE RADIO and XM SATELLITE RADIO for patent infringement.
The AP reports that the company filed suit on APRIL 27 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of TEXAS seeking damages and an injunction. The patent covers a data transmission system for sending large packets using small capacity; the company previously successfully sued DIRECTV in the same court, resulting in damages and a licensing agreement.
