Congratulations to longtime LOS ANGELES sportscaster STU NAHAN, who will be honored with a star on the HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME on FRIDAY (5/25).
NAHAN worked in radio at KABC-A, KXTA-A, and, most recently, KFWB-A as part of the DODGERS pre-game show until his 2004 retirement; he also anchored sports at KABC-TV, KNBC-TV, and KTLA-TV after working in the late 1960s at the old WKBS-TV/PHILADELPHIA (hosting a children's show as "CAPTAIN PHILADELPHIA"). STU's most familiar roles on a national basis were as the boxing announcer in the "ROCKY" movies and his legendary cameo as himself, interviewing SEAN PENN's character JEFF SPICOLI, in a dream sequence in the film "FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH." He has been battling Burkitt's Lymphoma in recent months.
