The FCC upholds a fine against INFINITY, former licensee of Urban WBLK/BUFFALO, for airing a phone conversation with a customer service representative from ADELPHIA CABLE without permission, but reduces the fine from $4,000 to $3,000 based on the then-licensee's corrective measures before the fine was levied. INFINITY/CBS has since sold the station to REGENT.
The Commission has also upheld an $8,000 fine for antenna cleaning and repainting violations at WAFN/ARAB, AL; fined SANDHILL MEDIA GROUP $4,200 for tower fencing violations at KUPI/AMMON, ID; and fined GLA-MAR BROADCASTING LLC $250 for an EAS violation at KBZB-F/PIOCHE, NV.
And the FCC is proposing a $4,000 fine against CHARLES RIVER BROADCASTING (WFCC/CHATHAM [CAPE COD], MA), a $7,000 fine against HENDRIX COLLEGE (KHDX/CONWAY, AR), and a $1,500 fines each against H&H BROADCASTING CORP. (KLBA/ALBIA, IA) and BURNET BIBLE COLLEGE (KFGG-LP/MARBLE FALLS, TX) for late license renewal applications.
