Former NFL star KEYSHAWN JOHNSON's deal to join ESPN includes radio work, as the former N.Y. JETS, TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS, DALLAS COWBOYS, and CAROLINA PANTHERS wide receiver will join his DALLAS coach BILL PARCELLS and CHRIS MORTENSEN on ESPN RADIO's upcoming weekly football show.
JOHNSON retired WEDNESDAY after 11 seasons in the league and inked a deal to join ESPN as a studio analyst for the network's "SUNDAY NFL COUNTDOWN" and "MONDAY NIGHT COUNTDOWN" football pre-game shows. He worked as an analyst on last month's NFL Draft coverage, covering the PANTHERS drafting DWAYNE JARRETT -- like JOHNSON, a USC-schooled wide receiver, only much younger -- in the second round, an indication that the team was preparing to release JOHNSON, which it did on MAY 1.
