This month MOODY BROADCASTING NETWORK (MBN) in CHICAGO marked 25 years of sending satellite-fed programming to owned and operated stations across the country.
“Hardly anyone in the broadcasting industry understood the potential impact of satellite on radio," says MBN VP WAYNE PEDERSON. "However, MOODY BROADCASTING leadership really pioneered an initiative that many other broadcasters would pick up on later.
“Satellite moved us light years forward from tape distribution through the mail to instantaneous, cost-effective immediacy through [MBN]. To this day, we have over 400 radio stations, over 700 outlets that broadcast the Good News to their community using this satellite delivery.”
MBN owns and operates 35 stations across the country and provides programming via satellite to more than 700 outlets. Programs heard via MBN include MIDDAY CONNECTION, PRIME TIME AMERICA, OPEN LINE, PROCLAIM! and MUSIC THRU THE NIGHT. MBN is a part of the MOODY BIBLE INSTITUTE.
