More details about the launch of a new "sports and entertainment" format on GOW COMMUNICATIONS Ethnic KILE-A/HOUSTON are being reported by the HOUSTON CHRONICLE, with the inking of CHRONICLE columnist KEN HOFFMAN for a midday show added to the widely assumed installation of former CBS Sports KILT-A morning host JOHN GRANATO for mornings. The format flip is projected for the end of summer with new call letters planned.
New owner DAVID GOW told the CHRONICLE, "We're going to be sports and entertainment and news. GRANATO has long used sports as a platform to broach a broad range of subjects. We're hoping he'll continue that at 1560."
GRANATO adds, "People have said, 'Four sports stations?' But I don't think we have enough sports talk. I think there's room for more."
