After just three days behind bars, PARIS HILTON was released early this morning and reassigned to home confinement. HILTON must wear a monitoring bracelet and remain at her home for another 40 days, said sheriff's department spokesman STEVE WHITMORE. 

The reality TV star, heiress and attempted pop singer was originally sentenced to 45 days for violating the terms of her probation following a DUI arrest. The judge cut her sentence to 23 days, and she entered a LOS ANGELES COUNTY jail on SUNDAY night. Medical considerations are said to have "played a part" in the decision to offer HILTON home confinement for the remainder of her sentence, WHITMORE said.
