June 19, 2007 at 5:45 AM (PT)
The UK's OFCOM will levy a spectrum fee on digital terrestrial radio and TV broadcasters starting in 2014. The fee, called "administrative incentive pricing," will also be levied on the BBC's analog radio starting in 2008, the same as commercial analog broadcasters alreaady pay.
Details of the fee, which will be based on how much spectrum a broadcaster uses, will be released later this year for the analog BBC fees and closer to the 2014 start date for digital.
