2UE/Sydney's John Laws Announces Retirement

SOUTHERN CROSS Talk 2UE/SYDNEY and syndicated host JOHN LAWS has announced that he will retire later this year. LAWS, one of AUSTRALIA's most well-known and controversial media personalities, said on his show MONDAY that he will leave the air by NOVEMBER "at the latest," depending on the announcement of the federal election.
"I am going to stop being a radio broadcaster," LAWS, 71, said to his listeners. "I will never stop totally thinking of it. Apart from my family, it's been my life."
LAWS started his career at 3BO/BENDIGO, VICTORIA and joined 2UE in 1957.
