A badly decomposed body has been found at the home of missing former Talk KIRO-A/SEATTLE host MIKE WEBB, and a friend of the family tells the SEATTLE POST-INTELLIGENCER that the body is that of WEBB, who had not been seen since APRIL 13.
"At this point it is still extremely shocking," said friend and MIKEWEBB.ORG webmaster BOB VESELY, who confirmed the body identification to the paper. "We want MIKE's progressive voice to continue." He said that he spoke for WEBB's family in California, and says WEBB's sister told him that the KING COUNTY MEDICAL EXAMINER's office had contacted the family FRIDAY morning with the news.
The body was discovered before 3p PT THURSDAY in a crawlspace by a property manager. Reports early FRIDAY in the P-I said that the body was covered by a blue tarpaulin under boxes in the crawlspace, which had been blocked by bookshelves. Police were unable to immediately identify the body or gender and age of the deceased due to the decomposition.
WEBB had been convicted of insurance fraud and was doing community service at the time of his disappearance.
