CCs Total Traffic Adds HD Radio Data Delivery

CLEAR CHANNEL's TOTAL TRAFFIC NETWORK is now sending traffic data via HD RADIO in 48 U.S. metros, and says that the move is the first data service commercially available via HD RADIO. Receivers capable of getting the data will be available by the end of the year.
TTN has also added RDS-TMC text traffic data delivery in 19 new markets across the U.S. and CANADA, bringing its RDS-TMC service total to 68 cities.
"HD Radio is the future for broadcast data delivery, allowing us to not only deliver traffic data, but provide additional services a well," said CLEAR CHANNEL RADIO EVP/Distribution Development JEFF LITTLEJOHN. "CLEAR CHANNEL RADIO is synonymous with high quality traffic data. With the addition of these 19 markets, we cover over 160 million people with our traffic service for consumer devices."
