Revenues, Income Up For Corus In Q3

CORUS ENTERTAINMENT's fiscal third quarter consolidated revenues rose 9% to C$197.6 million, with net income up from C$23.2 million to C$29.6 million (55 to 70 cents/basic share, 54 to 68 cents/diluted share). Radio revenues were up 4% to C$74.8 million, with segment profit up 15% to C$24.2 million.
"We enjoyed another solid quarter with strong ad sales in radio and television," said Pres./CEO JOHN CASSADAY. "Our program investments at W NETWORK and MOVIE CENTRAL are driving growth in these key brands and our focus on attracting and retaining strong local talent for our radio properties resulted in another strong ratings performance in the most recent industry survey. We continue to feel we are well positioned to capitalize on CANADA's continued strong economic growth."
CORUS has also declared monthly dividends of C$0.0825 per Class A share and C$0.08333 per Class B share payable on each of AUGUST 31, SEPTEMBER 28, and OCTOBER 31 to shareholders of record at the close of business on AUGUST 17, SEPTEMBER 14, and OCTOBER 17, respectively.
