The NATIONAL RELIGIOUS BROADCASTERS are weighing in against the possibility of a return for the Fairness Doctrine, throwing the organizations' support behind the Senate and House amendments and bills aimed at blocking the doctrine's reinstatement. In a statement issued WEDNESDAY, the NRB said that the bills would "preemptively prevent the FCC from shackling broadcasters."
Limbaugh: How About Fairness In News Coverage?
And on his show WEDNESDAY, RUSH LIMBAUGH challenged Congress to enact a Fairness Doctrine that would counteract "inaccurate reporting" by mainstream media. "Liberals in the Senate have it half right when they talk about the lack of balance and the lack of honest reporting," he said. "They're dead right when they talk about that. It's just they're wrong about where all these things are happening." Citing negative reporting of the economy as an example, LIMBAUGH alleged that politicians like Sen. DIANNE FEINSTEIN (D-CA) want to "manage" the news and that the news media is offering "liberal Drive-By Media propaganda." "Yeah, let's regulate the Drive-By Media," LIMBAUGH said. "Let's have a Truth Doctrine for them."
