Jetcast Offers Streaming 'Webinar'
July 17, 2007 at 5:44 AM (PT)
Global content streaming company JETCAST INC. has just launched a free, 20-minute Webinar on the basics of streaming to thousands of American radio managers, programmers and engineers. Longtime radio industry executives TOM ZARECKI and MICHAEL DALFONZO, will co-host "Streaming Myth-busters," which runs twice today (10a and 4p ET) and four additional times this month.
"If there was a hot new place in town where your target listeners hung out, wouldn't you want your station to be there?" ZARECKI asks. "Today that place is called 'people listening at work.' Local stations need to learn what it takes to get online so they're not last into the pool. This Webinar provides a great foundation."
"This current battle over royalties is merely a distracting internal sideshow," DALFONZO adds. "Stations can't afford not to be online because that's where their listeners are. This Webinar identifies 15 myths which keep stations from streaming, despite compelling studies from research companies showing increasing levels of at-work listening, due in part to terrestrial stations promoting their online streams."
The free Webinar will be offered six times over the next three weeks, beginning today, JULY 17, and repeated again on July 24 and 31 at 10a and 4p ET. Webinar registration is free and is open to anyone in the radio business, but limited to 200 electronic "seats" at each session. To register, visit www.Jetcast.com, click the "Streaming Myth-Busters" banner and select the session your station wishes to attend.
