As first reported on ALL ACCESS (NET NEWS 7/13) ENTRAVISION officially announced that KSSE (SUPER ESTRELLA 107.1 FM) has added English-language hits -- from such artists as NELLY FURTADO, BEYONCÉ and GWEN STEFANI -- to its current Spanish format. The majority of the playlist will continue to be Spanish-language, as will the dialogue from the station's on-air talent.
"We're committed to playing the songs our listeners want to hear, and based on our research songs recorded by top 40 English-language artists are in demand," said ENTRAVISION Radio Pres. JEFFERY LIBERMAN. "This direction reflects the continuing evolution and growth of the Latino population in the market, and the addition of English-language hits satisfies our listeners' desire for hit music regardless of language."
By combining the most popular Top 40 music in both languages, we're going to change the way traditional Spanish-language formats are broadcast and heard.
"'SUPER ESTRELLA' is turning the everyday sounds of radio upside down," said L.A. cluster GM KARL MEYER. "By combining the most popular Top 40 music in both languages, we're going to change the way traditional Spanish-language formats are broadcast and heard."
