GWEN STEFANI has sued FOREVER 21, claiming the fast-fashion retailer has knocked off designs from her HARAJUKU LOVERS clothing line, reports THE NEW YORK POST. STEFANI is the second designer to take aim at FOREVER 21 in recent months. In MARCH, DIANE VON FURSTENBERG slapped the retailer with a copyright infringement lawsuit.
STEFANI's company HARAJUKU LOVERS claims that FOREVER 21 ripped off its "Heart/Box" pattern, which, according to the lawsuit filed in LOS ANGELES, is trademarked. The design features a checkerboard pattern of alternating hearts and squares, including Japanese lettering and the words "Harajuku" and "Lovers."
