Arbitron Q2 Revenues Up

ARBITRON INC. has reported second quarter 2007 revenue of $79.0 million, an increase of 6.6% over revenue of $74.2 million during the second quarter of 2006.
Costs and expenses for the second quarter increased by 17.1%, from $67.3 million in 2006 to $78.8 million in 2007, due in part to planned expenditures for the rollout of the PORTABLE PEOPLE METER ratings service in PHILADELPHIA, NEW YORK, NASSAU-SUFFOLK, MIDDLESEX-SOMERSET-UNION, LOS ANGELES, RIVERSIDE and CHICAGO.
Net income for the quarter was $3.8 million, compared with $7.4 million for the second quarter of 2006. For the six months ended JUNE 30, 2007, revenue was $170.8 million, an increase of 7.3% over revenue of $159.3 million for the same period in 2006.
