July 20, 2007 at 3:50 PM (PT)
ALL ACCESS has obtained additional HOUSTON JUNE 2007 ARBITRON PPM ratings. CLEAR CHANNEL Alternative KTBZ was the 12+ winner in the JUNE 2007 PPM currency. KTBZ soared to #1 4.0-5.8, moving up from sixth place in its final diary ratings book in WINTER '07.
Other big winners in the first PPM survey were Cumulus Top 40/Mainstream KRBE, which goes from seventh to fourth while growing 3.9-4.8. CLEAR CHANNEL Hot AC KHMX (3.2-4.6) surges from ninth to fifth.
But a major story is the tremendous growth of HOUSTON's three Country stations. Legendary CBS outlet KILT soars from 13th to a tie for 5th - rising 2.6-4.6. COX's KKBQ (2.6-4.1) went 13th to 10th, while Classic Country sister KTHT grew 2.0-3.0, although only moving up 14th to 13th in rank. COX 80's outlet KHPT also soared 1.4-3.1. COX's other two FM outlet's: Classic Hits KHTC (2.0-3.9) and 80's KHPT (1.4-3.1) also boomed.
Interestingly enough, AQH shares for a number of stations were up. Of the top 20 12+ stations, 15 of them saw increases in PPM share from their final diary share. The top 20 commercial stations in the WINTER 2007 diary survey tallied 68.1 total shares, while the top 20 in the JUNE PPM survey combined for 78.3.
The complete results are now posted in the ARBITRON section.
