APEX BROADCASTING, INC. is swapping the facilities of Alternative WAVF (96 WAVE)/HANAHAN-CHARLESTON, SC and an undisclosed price to NEXTMEDIA for those of Alternative WKZQ/NORTH MYRTLE BEACH. In the deal, NEXTMEDIA will move the WAVF city of license to FOREST BROOK and APEX will move WKZQ's facility to HANAHAN and into the CHARLESTON market, with MILLER COMMUNICATIONS applying to move the city of license of Classic Rock WWBD (BAD DOG 95.7)/BAMBERG, SC to ISLE OF PALMS, SC, into the CHARLESTON market as a Class C2 FM on 95.9. WAVF's format and calls will end up on the relocated/moved-in WWBD Class C2 facility at 95.9 FM under APEX ownership, with a new format and calls on the moved-in former WKZQ facility at 101.7, while WKZQ's calls and programming will move to NEXTMEDIA's moved-out WAVF Class C2 facility.
In another deal filed with the FCC, EDGEWATER BROADCASTING, INC. is selling the construction permits for FM translator W232BQ/ALFRED, NY and W289AR/HORNELL, NY to EUROPA COMMUNICATIONS, INC. for $5,000. The buyer plans to rebroadcast FAMILY LIFE NETWORK non-commercial Contemporary Christian WCIK/BATH, NY on the translators.
