The UK's GUARDIAN MEDIA GROUP has announced that it has created a one million-pound programming fund to invest in radio programs from independent producers and Internet program providers. The programming will be targeted for GMG's SMOOTH RADIO, REAL RADIO, CENTURY FM, and ROCK RADIO stations and networks.
GMG's move is an attempt to compete with the BBC, especially RADIO 2, and other outlets for strong independent programming.
