ESPN Sports KSPN-A (710 ESPN)/LOS ANGELES joins the SAN DIEGO CHARGERS football network for the 2007 season. The station is picking up 12 of the CHARGERS' 16 regular season games, the others being bumped due to conflicts with LOS ANGELES ANGELS OF ANAHEIM broadcasts. The CHARGERS, whose flagship is CLEAR CHANNEL Active Rock KIOZ (ROCK 105.3)/SAN DIEGO, were previously heard in the L.A. market on crosstown KMPC-A (1540 THE TICKET), which flipped to Korean earlier this year.
"We’re thrilled our games can be heard on such an expansive network, and particularly proud to have 710 ESPN in LOS ANGELES join us this season," said CHARGERS EVP/COO JIM STEEG. "The CHARGERS are the only professional football team in SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, and partnering with 710 ESPN is a great way to reach our fans in ORANGE COUNTY and LOS ANGELES."
The station is also covering X GAMES 13 with 13 hours of live broadcasts, airing the midday D'MARCO FARR and KEVIN KILEY "DKLA" show and the afternoon "BIG SHOW" with STEVE MASON and JOHN IRELAND on THURSDAY and FRIDAY from the HOME DEPOT CENTER in CARSON. The station will also air a special "X GAMES POST-GAMES SHOW" with host DAVE DENHOLM on SATURDAY and will host live "Insanity Sessions" panels at the event.
