NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC VENTURES is launching a music and radio division, including a label with three imprints for artist releases, soundtracks, and kids' music, a music publisher with over 12,000 copyrights, radio production and syndication, music supervision for soundtracks, a world music Web site, music programming for NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC CHANNEL, and live concert promotion.
CLEAR CHANNEL, NPR, and SALEM are among the partners in the venture, the details of which will be released in the FALL. "RADIO EXPEDITIONS," the company's existing radio show, will continue in partnership with NPR. DAVID BEAL will serve as President of NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC MUSIC AND RADIO, with MARK BAUMAN as EVP.
NGV Pres. TIM KELLY says, "NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC MUSIC AND RADIO will engage listeners with great talk and sound, and also offer artists and experts who care about global culture and the environment an outlet to create awareness for important issues. DAVID's expertise working with world-class musicians and his impressive track record for integrating and distributing multimedia content are crucial to the success of the new division. We are very fortunate to have DAVID BEAL at the helm and MARK BAUMAN as part of the team."
