Mag Article: Imus 'On Verge' Of Announcing Return

A new profile of DON IMUS by NEW YORK MAGAZINE's ROBERT KOLKER says that the former WESTWOOD ONE and WFAN-A.NEW YORK morning host is "on the verge of announcing that he will be back on the air, perhaps as soon as JANUARY."
The article says that sources say IMUS has been approached by "as many as three major media companies" and that the settlement of his lawsuit against CBS could result in a return to WFAN, which would contradict the rampant rumors of the impending signing of BOOMER ESIASON and CRAIG CARTON as IMUS' replacements.
However, the article also cites a source "close to IMUS" as saying that ESIASON is "almost a lock" to replace IMUS and that the holdup is getting IMUS' settlement finished first, which would then allow IMUS to seek a new deal elsewhere.
