A big ALL ACCESS high-five to ARISTA/NASHVILLE star BRAD PAISLEY for taking his HERSHEY'S PRESENTS: BONFIRES AND AMPLIFIERS tour to the men and women based at KENTUCKY'S FT. CAMPBELL. PAISLEY, along with tour mates KELLIE PICKLER and TAYLOR SWIFT, braved the immense heat last night (8/6) to perform a free show for the soldiers, their families and post employees. The majority of the 30,000 soldiers stationed at FT. CAMPBELL, which is home to the 101st AIRBORNE unit, are home but many will be returning to IRAQ this fall.
PAISLEY claims the idea came to him after learning that so many of the men and women would be re-deployed for such a long period of time in the coming months. He said, "That just blew my mind, thinking about what they'll miss, especially leaving in SEPTEMBER. I also found out that a lot of them are (deploying) their second time at least. I thought, while we are in NASHVILLE, if we can find a day, we ought to just set this up and play for them before they leave as a thank you and an opportunity to let their families take their minds off of it. It's the least I could do. What they are doing is so amazingly selfless as far as a career goes."
JACK INGRAM, who is also on the tour, was unable to participate due to previous commitments. However, PAISLEY felt that though his talent would be missed, the primarily male crowd would prefer to look at his two more feminine tour mates.
