UK premium phone rate services regulator ICSTIS slaps MX TELECOM with a 17,000 pound fine and reprimand for code violations connected to a call-in and text contest run on 31 GCAP MEDIA radio stations in JANUARY.
The problem arose when entries, costing 35p per call or 25p per text, were selected for air based on whether the message supplied incorrect answers, despite the rules saying that no answer at all was required to qualify at that stage of the competition.
