Shot Fired At KPFT/Houston Studios
August 14, 2007 at 5:53 AM (PT)
A gunshot was fired early MONDAY morning at the studios of PACIFICA noncommercial KPFT/HOUSTON, but nobody was injured in the incident.
A white car drove by the station and fired the shot at about 1a CT, piercing the studio window and missing programmer MARY THOMAS's head by 18 inches.
GM DUANE BRADLEY told the HOUSTON CHRONICLE that he thought the shot was "purposeful," but that the station had not been airing any controversial programming in the house leading up to the incident; it was airing zydeco music at the time.
