NAB Sends Mock Invoice To Radio

The NAB has fired yet another volley in the ongoing battle over performance royalties. With lawmakers returning to their Congressional districts this month, the NAB sent a mock invoice to some 13,000 local radio stations, demonstrating the impact of a performance tax.
The mailer, which mockingly bills the recipient radio station, encourages local operators to urge their member of Congress to oppose a performance task on local radio stations.
"Invite your member of Congress to visit your station, and show firsthand how the performance tax will hurt your efforts to serve your local community," the mailer reads.
