Another CLEAR CHANNEL Talk WLW-A/CINCINNATI promo has advocates for illegal immigration angry and calling for the resignation of Market Manager CHUCK FREDRICK.
The CINCINNATI ENQUIRER's JOHN KIESEWETTER reports that the latest promo to run afoul of activists offers "a few useful phrases next time you converse with an illegal alien" (such as "be careful with those hedge clippers around the garden") while Mexican music plays in the background, and that, says LEAGUE OF UNITED LATIN AMERICAN CITIZENS Executive Director BRENT A. WILKES, violates FREDRICK's promise to stop offensive promotions after a dispute over the station's "THE BIG JUAN" billboards in MAY.
WILKES wrote an e-mail to CLEAR CHANNEL RADIO CEO JOHN HOGAN saying, "The local Hispanic community is outraged that the station is deliberately demeaning them in an effort to increase ratings and profit at the station. They are demanding that Mr. FREDRICK be removed from his position and that the demeaning advertisements stop."
