August 17, 2007 at 5:54 AM (PT)
After 5-1/2 years as PD at CUMULUS Top 40 WHOT/YOUNGSTOWN, PD JOHN TROUT has resigned. TROUT told ALL ACCESS, "Sadly, family medical issues necessitate my leaving. Conversely, I leave WHOT in very healthy condition with SPRING 2007 ARBITRON up 4.5 to 6.6 12+. We have been blessed to enjoy many successful promotions, concerts, and all-around fun with a loyal and dedicated staff. WHOT signed on in 1955 and I'm only its third PD, proceeded only by DICK THOMPSON and TOM PAPPAS."
TROUT added, "With the great team CUMULUS has in place, including my mentor JAN JEFFRIES who has taught me the importance of the total radio experience for our audience, I know HOT 101 will continue to be hotter than ever." TROUT, also a pilot and meteorologist noted, "At this time family needs come first." He can be reached at email@example.com.
