All Access Exclusive: The State Of Top 40

In another ALL ACCESS exclusive, RADIOCRUNCH Pres. ANTHONY ACAMPORA looks at the Spring demo results for the top 50 markets with regard to the Top 40 format.
ANTHONY surveyed 40 stations and used Adults 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 (although the latter is not necessarily a core demo). PHILADELPHIA and HOUSTON were not used because they are PPM markets. WHTZ (Z100)/NEW YORK was one of eight #1 stations in their respective markets this Spring.
Of the eight stations that topped their market in the demo, six of the eight are owned by CLEAR CHANNEL. The two exceptions: COX’s WBLI/NASSAU-SUFFOLK and ENTERCOM’s WXSS/MILWAUKEE.
