WARNER MUSIC GROUP EVP KEVIN LILES, a BALTIMORE native, will be honored next month with the re-naming of his childhood block with his namesake, reports THE BALTIMORE SUN. The 2900 block of PRESSTMAN ST. in WALBROOK, where LILES grew up, will be renamed "KEVIN LILES DRIVE."
"As a proud native of BALTIMORE, I am humbled to receive such a huge honor," LILES said in a statement. "I would like to thank Governor [MARTIN] O'MALLEY and Mayor SHEILA DIXON for believing in young AMERICA because we do want to make a difference."
LILES, who began working in the music industry as an unpaid intern in 1991, heads "KEVIN LILES for a Better BALTIMORE Foundation, Inc.," which helps to "educate youth to develop and build the necessary skills they need for a successful transition into adulthood." The renaming ceremony and a block party will take place from 1-4p SEPTEMBER 1st.
