XM CANADA's parent company CANADIAN SATELLITE RADIO HOLDINGS INC. says that it has reached the 306,000 subscriber mark as of the end of fiscal fourth quarter (AUGUST 31st, 2007). The number is more than double the figure at the end of fiscal year 2006.
"Our dedication to provide amazing programming and secure a great roster of sports coverage, including our exclusive satellite radio broadcast partnership with the NHL, is clearly demonstrated by our rapidly growing subscriber base," said XM CANADA Chairman/CEO JOHN BITOVE. "We have successfully increased subscribers this quarter through a number of strategic initiatives, including an increase in our retail distribution network, the addition of innovative new products including the XpressRC, XpressR and XpressEZ, and our outstanding programming lineup available on 120 channels. With our exclusive NHL partnership airing for the next eight seasons, XM SATELLITE RADIO will provide listeners with up-to-the-second action and exciting coverage of all things NHL until 2015."
"As many of our automotive partners begin factory installing XM radios as a standard feature and as we ramp-up our partnerships with national leading brands including ROGERS, TELUS, AIR CANADA, AVIS and BUDGET, the entire XM CANADA team is positive that the upcoming year will bring even more exciting opportunities to grow and delight our subscriber base," added BITOVE.
