CITADEL sells Talk WJRD-A (THE PEOPLE'S STATION)/TUSCALOOSA, AL to JRD, INC. for an undisclosed price. The buyer is headed by JAMES E. SHAW, DAVID M. BAUGHN and RONALD B. PRICE; SHAW and BAUGHN own two LPTV stations and an FM translator in ALABAMA.
POLNET RADIO GROUP closes on its purchase of Business WTMY-A/SARASOTA and Urban AC WRXB-A/ST. PETERSBURG, FL from METROPOLITAN RADIO GROUP for $1.1 million. JOHN L. PIERCE of JOHN PIERCE AND CO. served as exclusive broker for the deal.
In other deals filed with the FCC, EDUCATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO, INC. sells noncommercial Hot AC KAQQ (Q-FM)/MIDLAND, TX to LA PROMESA FOUNDATION for $175,000; E-STRING WIRELESS, LTD. sells FM translator K287AT/SAN ANGELO, TX to MOVING TARGET CONSULTING WORKS, LLC for $21,000 ($7,000 sown, $7,000 cash at closing, $7,000 in a promissory note); and EDGEWATER BROADCASTING INC. is selling K277BI/STURGIS, SD to PHASOR PHYSICS, INC. for $1,000 plus a used 10-watt transmitter.
